Dear Swiss Fireball Sailors,
The Belgian Fireball Association cordially invites you to our 2026 Belgian National Championships, taking place May 23-25 in Blankenberge on the beautiful Belgian coast! Looking for quality North Sea racing before Torquay? This is the perfect warm-up event! The nationals will be open, so you can become Belgian champ!
Blankenberge offers excellent access to North Sea sailing conditions. You can expect three days of competitive racing alongside a strong Belgian fleet (10+ boats) and potentially Czech, Swiss and Irish sailors who have expressed keen interest in joining us for top-level sea racing.
The event benefits from an experienced race committee, as we're sharing the weekend with the Snipe National Championships (one of Belgium's largest fleets), and the Finn class will also be participating. This multi-class format ensures professional race management and a vibrant atmosphere.
Beyond great sailing, explore Belgium's cultural treasures! The medieval city of Bruges is just 20 minutes away by train, while the vibrant city of Ghent is 50 minutes away—both absolutely worth visiting. We've also planned social events throughout the weekend to enhance the experience on and off the water.
Early arrivals are welcome for training days, and you're invited to leave your boats at the club parking for a few days after the event if you'd like to explore Belgium further.
We're excited to welcome not only our Belgian fleet but also international competitors. We envision Blankenberge as Belgium's premier sea sailing venue and hope to establish this as an annual Fireball tradition!
